Interview Magazine Twenty Most Beautiful People of the Decade - Robert Pattinson and Ashley Greene

Interview Magazine published a list of Twenty Gorgeous People of the Last Decade which both the Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Ashley Greene are included.

In a decade when it has become daily ritual to witness our most famous, talented, and beautiful people in their gym sweats and flip flops at Starbucks, unaware of the long-lensed sniper in the bushes capturing them in exactly the angle of light and time of day that is maximally unflattering, we thought it'd be fitting to end the '00s with a glorious, glamorous look back at the 20 most beautiful people that have graced the pages of our magazine in the past 10 years. Sure, in an ideal world beauty would be nakedly apparent. But it doesn't hurt to have makeup, hair, wardrobe, and a talented, sympathetic photographer. And, in the tradition of this magazine, we encouraged them to speak freely—because the beautiful and famous are just dying to tell you something you didn't know about them.

ROBERT PATTINSON

A bit of Brando, a twinge of Dean, the Twilight star possesses that slightly strange alien quality that turns brooding good looks into the iconic. He has just enough edge to make teens and tabloids go into "crazed hunter" mode—have you seen Robsessed?—but also a disarming, slightly crippling self-awareness. It's early yet for Pattinson, but we're eagerly awaiting part two of his entertaining saga.

On life before Twilight:

"We spent the better part of a year just getting drunk every night... "I don't know if that counts as ‘struggling.'"

ASHLEY GREENE

With five films scheduled to come out in the next year, it's safe to say that Ashley Greene is riding the momentum from the absurd Twilight wave. The young vampire with the psychic abilities—she also has the power to make girls literally break down in tears in public. But how far into her own future can she see? From where we're standing, the near-future, at least, looks promising.

ASHLEY GREENE: "I grew up in a house that would be perfect to set a horror movie in. It was out in the country, right on the water. I'm glad I never got to see scary movies when I was young. Otherwise I would have imagined things coming out of the lake.

Taylor Lautner in talks to star in remake of ‘Vision Quest’

Taylor Lautner may be about to pin down another role.

Seemingly seconds after he booked yet another post-Jacob job, sources tell E! News that the 17-year-old actor is in talks to put his New Moon abs to good use in a remake of the 1985 drama Vision Quest.

Which is not what it sounds like—a cheesy sci-fi flick—but rather a coming-of-age romance that featured Madonna's "Crazy for You" as its theme song and that starred Matthew Modine as a high school wrestling star who falls in love with an artist—a permtastic Linda Fiorentino—his dad has taken in as a boarder.

Why remake? Let's just rerelease that! But Taylor may have another vision.

He could wind up playing an updated version of Modine's character in the still-in-development film, which counts Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen of Temple Hill Entertainment (and Twilight and New Moon fame) as producers. We hear that Richard Munic has penned a screenplay that is "very faithful" to the original film.

"Taylor saw [the script] and is really excited about it," says a source. "It's very much in line with his athleticism. His character is someone who's striving for greatness."

A rep for Lautner didn't respond to a request for comment, and Warner Bros., which owns the rights to Vision Quest, remained mum on whether it's considering the shirtless wonder for the lead, confirming only that the film is in development.

‘Twilight’ star Peter Facinelli Returns to Alma Mater St. Francis Prep

Students at St. Francis Preparatory School got a glimpse of Hollywood up close and personal as Prep alumnus and current “Twilight” star Peter Facinelli came back to the Fresh Meadows school and spoke to students.

Facinelli, who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the “Twilight” movies, addressed two student assemblies – one filled with seniors and a second of performing arts students – on Wednesday, December 16 about his career and TV and movie business overall.

The students, one of whom held up a “Peter, marry me” sign during the assembly, snapped photos of the star and asked him questions about his career and the acting business in general.

“He came to us a professional and not as a celebrity,” said St. Francis Prep sophomore Nora Martini, who is a performing arts student at the school. “He talked to us about the business and how this was his dream to become an actor.”

“It’s wild, but I know that St. Francis Prep offers you so much to do, and I knew there were a lot of successful people who have graduated and will graduate from here,” Martini said.

St. Francis Prep principal Patrick McLaughlin said that Facinelli recently reached out to a teacher at the school and said he would like to come back and talk to students.

“He really did a great job,” said McLaughlin, who taught Facinelli when he was a student at Prep. “When something like this happens, just having him walk back into the school sends an important message to every student in this building that there’s someone who walked in your footsteps and is now very successful.”

Facinelli, who was born and raised in Ozone Park and graduated St. Francis Prep in 1991, has been in films including “Can’t Hardly Wait” and “Finding Amanda,” as well as a number of TV shows including “Six Feet Under,” “Damages,” and “Fastlane.”

However, Facinelli, who is married to former “Beverly Hills 90210” star Jennie Garth, may be most well known for his recurring role as Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the “Twilight” series including the third installment Twilight Saga: “The Eclipse,” due out in 2010.

Facinelli, who just finished shooting for the second season of Showtime’s “Nurse Jackie,” where he plays Dr. Fitch Cooper, said he was honored to come back to his alma mater and share his experiences with current students.

“It’s a school that has planted the seeds of who I am today, and I was grateful to be able to give back in some small way. Wherever I go, I will never forget where I came from, and even though I left Prep many years ago, the values that I acquired there have never left me.”

Tinsel Korey Gives Quileuete Children a Christmas Present

This just in from the Quileuete Nation:

“Twilight Saga:New Moon” actress Tinsel Korey who portrays Emily in the franchise gave the Quileute Tribal School students a special “Christmas Treat”.

Each student at the school received a personalized autographed photo from Tinsel on the last day of school before Christmas break. “Tinsel autographed the photos after her visit in the fall for each student and I wanted to them to receive them for a special occasion, states Jackie Jacobs. ‘I thought it would be a special treat for them to receive them for Christmas!”

“I was moved to tears when she requested the student list from Stephanie at the front desk of the Tribal School and when she proceeded to write each students name on her photo I actually did cry knowing how much that would to mean to the kids”, says Jacobs.

“The students love Tinsel and this latest gesture is yet another example of the beauty of her spirit”, states Chairwoman Carol Hatch. Principal Al Zantua said, “This is going to make them very happy, it truly will be a surprise for our kids.’ Thank you Tinsel, for remembering the kids at Quileute.”

In addition to her generosity for the Quileute students, Korey also led a success coat drive to benefit the Navajo community.”

Anna Kendrick: Travelling Tips and Favorite Locations

Anna Kendrick, 24, just won a Golden Globe Awards supporting-actress nomination for Up in the Air, in which she appears with George Clooney. She also is in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, playing Bella's friend Jessica. She shares her travel highlights and tips with Kelly Carter for USA TODAY.

Q: Did you learn anything about traveling while making Up in the Air?

A: I'm getting better about going through security. I'm trying to be better about wearing slip-on shoes and not forgetting to take my laptop out of my suitcase. Traveling makes me a little nervous, because the actual act of being in an airport means you're completely at the mercy of other people.

Q: What's the sexiest place you've ever visited?

A: I thought Omaha, Neb., was pretty sexy. I swear to God. Conor Oberst (of Mystic Valley Band fame) came out of there, and where we were staying was near all these record shops and used T-shirt shops. They all had this kind of rock 'n' roll vibe. It was like every person walking down the street was going to be the next big thing. I've got a real thing for kind of rebellious, music-looking guys.

Q: Where have you been recently, and what did you like about it?

A: I went to London to do some press. They don't have a lot of foods that I'm used to having available at all times, but I did enjoy sticky toffee pudding, shepherd's pie and black pudding for the first time. Even though (the British) don't have a reputation for having the best food in the world, I definitely went on quite a binge.

Q: What's the first thing you do when you walk into a hotel room after checking in?

A: Check the bed. The most important thing in a hotel room to me is the bed and the shower. As long as you've got good pressure and a good bed, it doesn't really matter what else they've got. I've been in hotel rooms where there's, like, a chandelier in the shower. It really doesn't matter if the water pressure is not good. I'll get in the bed almost immediately and check it out to see if I'm going to have a good night's sleep.

Q: What's the most surprising/unexpected place you're ever visited?

A: Goshen, Ind. I shot a really, really, really small independent film there. There was a pretty strong Amish community, to the point where the Walmart had stables for horses. That was definitely interesting navigating roads with horses and buggies. There was one bar that we could go to at the end of the night. It was a really small community and it felt like that movie State and Main, where we completely took over the town. By the end, everybody knew who we were because we were one of the people working on the movie. Everybody else knew each other. It was like, "If you're an outsider you must be one of those movie people." I did see a little Amish boy playing with a Game Boy, but I didn't tattle on him.

Q: What's your favorite vacation spot?

A: Honestly, I can't remember the last time I was on vacation. But I really like Edinburgh. I went there when I was a teenager. I went during the Fringe festival and I've wanted to go back ever since. It was nice to be in a place where it felt like there was some history. I'm from Maine, and even Maine isn't that old. And certainly California is like the fetus of the world. It was nice to be in a place where it felt like things had really happened here and there was a real sense of history.

Q: Can you offer an insider tip or recommendation for your favorite vacation place?

A: It's not a vacation spot. But it was (in) a place I shot another movie. There's (an Irish pub) in Baltimore called Ryan's Daughter. Honestly, I can't even remember if the food was any good, but it was one of those places where we consistently had an amazing time and it felt like it had something to do with the environment and atmosphere.

Valentine's Day Trailer with Taylor Lautner - Most Star-Studded Cast Ever

OK, let's do the rundown: Ashton Kutcher, Kathy Bates, Anne Hathaway, Jamie Foxx, Jessicas Alba and Biel, Bradley Cooper, Shirley MacLaine, Patrick Dempsey, Topher Grace, Queen Latifah, Taylors Swift and Lautner, George Lopez, Eric Dane, Hector Elizondo, Jennifer Garner -- are we forgetting anyone?

Oh, right. Emma Roberts, and her aunt Julia.

From director Garry Marshall ('Pretty Woman') comes 'Valentine's Day', a sweeping, meet-by-chance, ensemble comedy in the mode of 1999's New Year's Eve star-cluster '200 Cigarettes' and 2003's Christmas Eve, Brit-fest 'Love Actually'.

Only now the day in question is, of course, that fated day every February, the one Kutcher tells us "comes every year whether you like it or not." Watch as perhaps the most star-studded cast ever assembled (not to mention two-fifths of a 'That 70's Show' reunion) navigates love, sex and relationships on a day meant to celebrate the whole spectacular mess.

From what we can tell about the entanglements, Cooper and Julia Roberts are working on a cross-country, plane cabin, V-Day romance, while a few thousand feet below, Biel's strained relationship with Foxx has driven her to the point of bitterness, booze and helium inhalation. Grace, in a budding relationship with Hathaway, can't seem to get his dates right, while Emma Roberts hopes the date may prove more ... transformative. Homecoming super-couple Lautner and Swift seemed turned on by "the hype" of a local camera crew, and Kucther -- who proposes to Alba on the grounds that she's "too good for him" -- is stuck delivering bouquets of roses to all of them.

We're probably leaving too much out, and as is par for the course with these types of films, Marshall probably has some lovely surprises in store for us along the way. But if the trailer is any indication, this film will a be fun, touching tour through not only what makes us crazy about V-day, but what about that day makes us crazy for each other as well.

Valentine's Day opens February 12, 2010.

Twilight actor Robert Pattinson is one of People Magazine’s 25 Most Intriguing People of 2009.

Ask Taylor Swift for one word to describe her life these days and the answer is easy: "Happy," she says. "It feels like this ongoing dream."

And why shouldn't it? Swift – who graces the cover of PEOPLE's 25 Most Intriguing People of 2009 – has lots to celebrate: In the past 12 months, she has seen her CD, Fearless, become the year's best-selling album, sold out tour dates and racked up a slew of accolades including the Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year award and eight Grammy nominations.

"You can stay the same person, even if everything around you changes," says the golden girl, 20, of the trappings of her fame. "I would like to think everybody out there isn't just waiting for me to trip and fall and stumble out of a club drunk."

"People know I'm not a party girl," she says. "I'm not hiding some dying urge to be out clubbing right now."

Swift shares PEOPLE's year-end honors with the most unforgettable entertainers, scene-makers and headline-generators of 2009: Hollywood's fabulous philanthropists Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie; Mo'Nique; Barack and Michelle Obama; Sandra Bullock; Neil Patrick Harris; governor gone rogue Sarah Palin; kidnap survivor Jaycee Dugard; Rihanna and more.

The Runaways Teaser Trailer

Twilight stars Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning’s new movie, The Runaways, teaser trailer is now out!

Up in the Air actress Anna Kendrick on The Jay Leno Show

'New Moon' Star Ashley Greene Shares Her Own 'Fairytale' Prom Story In TeenPROM Cover Story

Just last month, Ashley Greene was out celebrating her sultry Maxim cover, now she's back on the newsstands, with a glammed up look for TeenPROM 2010.

The "New Moon" star is gracing the cover of the magazine in an elegant purple dress with a bow and embroidery in the front, for a feature story spotlighting her role as spokesperson for DonateMyDress.org, a charity which distributes used prom dresses to underprivileged teens. In the issue, Ashley shares her prom story and dishes out some good advice for the big night. Of course, she also manages to sneak in a few "Twilight" bits.

The actress, who is no doubt busy prepping to reprise her role as Alice Cullen in "Eclipse," the next installment in the "Twilight" series, got involved with DonateMyDress.org because of her own experience trying to save up for prom.

"I bought my dress and I pretty much paid for everything because my parents really didn’t have the money to pay for something like that. I worked for it, so I think it meant that much more to me because I had to save up," she tells Prom2010.

In the end, Ashley put together enough to buy a fitted full-length dress with bronze and gold sequins and a plunging neckline (her mom made her cover-up with a shawl). She has since donated the dress to the charity. "I had my prom dress forever until I became a part of the charity and donated it," says Ashley. "It’s amazing to see girls’ faces light up [when given a dress]. It’s really fun because I get to interact with these girls and share the experience with them."

As for her big night, Ashley says it turned out perfect. "I went with my high school sweetheart and had a blast. I had that fairytale prom everyone talks about. It’s something I’ll remember forever."

Now, Ashley's hoping to help other young girls have their fairytale night with some choice words of advice. "Definitely plan ahead because the actual day can be kind of stressful. Planning everything out helps a lot," she says, adding that its also a good idea to pick out a dress you can easily dance and move around in.

Most importantly though, Ashley says it's key to stay true to your personal style when picking out a dress and makeup — even if you're tempted to go overboard. "Be yourself and don’t overdo it. People have a lot of anticipation for an event like prom and end up overdoing it or wearing too much makeup. Really make sure you are comfortable because then you’ll feel beautiful, instead of going overboard and asking yourself, ‘Oh my gosh, what did I do?’"

While charity work seems to be top on the 22-year-old actress' priority list lately (she recently filmed a PSA to fight global poverty), Ashley also manages to dish some details on what it was like to shoot "New Moon". "With 'Twilight', I was just so nervous and new. I didn’t know what to expect," Ashley tells the magazine. "With 'New Moon', we had [already] portrayed these characters and the fans responded to the movie and loved it.

"Also, Alice’s part became more pivotal. I got to do some action, and basically guided Bella through the whole second half of the film. I was so thankful that it happened in the second movie because I’m not sure I could have handled it in the first one."

One of the things she helped guide Bella through in the first movie? Getting ready for prom, of course! We've got a feeling Ash didn't need much direction when it came to filming that scene...

Peter Facinelli Says Making Two 'Breaking Dawn' Films Would Be 'Fantastic'

'I would love to have them break it into two parts because it's such a thick book,' he tells MTV News.
Although there's been no official word about the plans to turn the fourth book in the "Twilight" Saga, "Breaking Dawn," into a flick, sources speculate that if the film should happen, it will be split into two parts and "New Moon" director Chris Weitz may hop onboard to direct again.

But if any of that is happening, someone should tell "Twilight" star Peter Facinelli, because he currently knows nothing about the status of the movie. "No, we don't know anything yet," he told MTV News at Z100's Jingle Ball on Friday. "Usually the fans know before me. I've been combing the Web sites to see if we're doing a fourth movie. We'll see."

With "New Moon" being such an overwhelming success, there probably won't be an issue getting another flick green-lit — but Facinelli insisted the cast is just really excited that "New Moon" was such a hit. "I haven't heard or seen [a script yet]. I think everybody's just kind of still on the 'New Moon' high," he added. "And we're gearing up for 'Eclipse.' I'm excited for 'Eclipse.' That's my favorite book."

So, if or when "Breaking Dawn" goes into production, Facinelli does know which scene he's looking forward to shooting. "You know, there's this scene where Bella has the baby," he said, jokingly adding, "Like any other doctor, I'm not there at the time. I think I'm on the ninth playing a round of golf, but it's an interesting scene. I'd like to see how that's shot."

Will the film actually be split into two parts? Facinelli would be cool with that. "I would love to have them break it into two parts because it's such a thick book," he said. "I think that'd be fantastic to split into two, 'cause there's so much information. Whatever happens, I'm sure it will be good."

The star would also love to welcome back Weitz as director, if the studio decides that's what's best. "I'd love to see Chris Weitz back," he said. "I don't know. I mean, I know he actually has another film he's doing right now, so your guess is as good as mine. I'm sure they'll get somebody very capable. I mean, we've had some pretty fantastic directors so far."

Kristen Stewart Is MTV News' #7 Woman Of 2009

7. Kristen Stewart

At 19 years old, she already has an amazing 23 films under her belt. Yet, Kristen Stewart entered 2009 with a lot of questions: Was "Twilight" a fluke? How would the notoriously press-shy starlet handle A-list fame? And would "New Moon" "kill" her, as she promised?

2009 Highlights: It all began in the snowy mountains of Park City, Utah, where a bundled-up KStew arrived at the Sundance Film Festival to discover that paparazzi were everywhere — quite a difference from early 2008, when she walked down the streets unbothered. The "Twilight" star was there to unveil "Adventureland," a sweet coming-of-age drama that was well-received by critics and became a minor hit nationwide in April. Of course, 2010 will start out similarly for Kristen, as she'll be at Sundance next month with two films.

As the "New Moon" hype continued to build, KStew kept her indie cred intact. In March, she played a teenager suffering from a fatal nerve disease in "The Cake Eaters," a tiny character drama directed by Mary Stuart Masterson. KStew researched her role by spending time with real-life sufferers of Friedreich's ataxia and admitted that although she had a busy year ahead, she was glad the "Twilight" sequels were all filming so closely together.

Then, of course, the real craziness began. First came the MTV Movie Awards, where Kristen helped unveil first-look footage from "New Moon," shared a tender moment with Robert Pattinson and proved she's every bit as clumsy as Bella Swan. Later in the year, Kristen would return for the Video Music Awards alongside Rob and Taylor, this time considerably more glamorous.

Somewhere in-between all that, as she continued to shoot "Eclipse" and "The Runaways," KStew swung into San Diego's Comic-Con to hang out with 5,000 of her closest friends and unveil her new Joan Jett haircut.

A few chaotic months later, Kristen was at the "New Moon" premiere, looking beautiful as she walked the red carpet, and astronomical box-office predictions flew. On the verge of the sequel's release, Kristen took time out from hitting Hot Topic and had plenty to say about Rob's newfound confidence, whether she prefers Edward or Jacob, her desire to "do nothing," and how the filming gave her whiplash.

So how did that little "New Moon" movie do? Well, a record-breaking opening and worldwide devotion from half-a-billion dollars' worth of fans will certainly make Kristen's busy 2009 feel worthwhile. As she recently told us, KStew doesn't take it all too seriously — but clearly, her fans do.

Twilight actor Robert Pattinson UK Radio Interview

New Interview of Twilight star Robert Pattinson from UK Radio.

Kristen Stewart's New ‘The Runaways’ Photo

Twilight star Kristen Stewart has new hot still from her upcoming film ‘The Runaways’, a biopic of Joan Jett. Kristen stars with Dakota Fanning her co-star in the Twilight Saga: New Moon.

Of all the bands to come out of the 1970s Los Angeles music scene, The Runaways are by far the most uniquely fascinating. This is partially due to their music but more so to the fact that they were teenage girls whose wild and reckless lifestyle was the stuff of legend.

Focusing on the duo of guitarist/vocalist Joan Jett and lead vocalist Cherie Currie as they navigate a rocky road of touring and record-label woes, the film chronicles the band's formation as well as their meteoric rise under the malevolent eye of an abusive manager.

Acclaimed video artist Floria Sigismondi directs from her own script, and her luscious camerawork captures every sweaty detail—from the filthy trailer where the women practice to the mosh pits of Tokyo. What really makes the film cook are the sizzling performances by Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart. Not to be missed, The Runaways is an ode to an era and a groundbreaking band.

Twilight actor Taylor Lautner Cover Repeats Men's Health Magazine

Even though he kept his shirt on, Taylor Lautner's December cover for Men's Health is generating heat. It's hard to miss the glaring similarities to the magazine's October 2007 cover, which featured Jason Statham. When it comes to 1,293 ways to eat better, six-pack abs, dressing for more sex, and the ultimate cardio plan, it seems we've seen it all before. No, really, we have. Compared side-by-side, cover lines like "Gain Muscle, Lose Pounds" are exactly the same, word for word, and appear in exactly the same spot.

The magazine's editor tells Mediaite that the recycling is an intentional stunt, and that they sent an alternate cover to subscribers. "Rest assured-it's this originality and reporting rigor that's made us the biggest men's magazine brand in the world," says editor-in-chief David Zinczenko. He added in an interview with The New York Post that "it was part of overall branding strategies."

Twilight stars Taylor Lautner & Anna Kendrick are on Moviefones Top 10 Breakout Stars of 2009

7. Anna Kendrick
Anna Kendrick has a lot going for her. She co-stars in that hit film series 'Twilight,' and just snagged a National Board of Review prize for her naively overconfident, quick-witted turn as a newbie firing-agent in Jason Reitman's 'Up in the Air.' At only 24, Kendrick has proved to be a mighty talent in both comedy and drama, garnering a heap of Oscar buzz going toe-to-toe with George Clooney in 'Air.'
Next Up: Edgar Wright's 'Scott Pilgrim vs. the World' and, of course, reprising her role as Jessica in 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.'

1. Taylor Lautner
Royally buffing up as the shapeshifting werewolf Jacob Black in the sequel 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon,' Taylor Lautner redefines teenage hunk in his breakout role. Graduating from Bella's long-haired admirer in the first film, Lautner is able to flex his muscles, quite literally, with a much larger, brooding part in the second vampire flick. There is a reason why Taylor beat out the rest of the notable names on this list for the top spot: sheer box office brawn. The Twihards have spoken: Team Jacob all the way -- well, for now at least.
Next Up: Reprising his role as Jacob Black in 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.'

Get Your Own Bella Swan's Bracelet as seen in the New Moon Movie

Bracelet made by URBAN HARDWEAR
The one costume piece that's been nearly impossible to find an exact match for is Bella's beaded "prayer bracelet". Worn above her black "St. Jude" bracelet on her left wrist, the enigmatic piece of jewelry has finally been found! Many interpretations have been made but none of them have been as precise as the copy by URBAN HARDWEAR. URBAN HARDWEAR was kind enough to send me a few examples of their work, and I highly, HIGHLY endorse them. Identical to the bracelet(s) that Kristen Stewart wears in "THE TWILIGHT SAGA", each piece is custom-made...strung with beautiful hand-dyed wooden beads and a single hand-blown cobalt glass bead accented with enameled spots. The beads are intricately hand-laced and knotted with leather and finished with a lobster-claw clasp. The bracelets come in a very cool muslin draw-string bag with the URBAN HARDWEAR logo on it, which you can store your bracelet in when you're not wearing it.

If you would like to order your own bracelet, follow the link below and it will take you to URBAN HARDWEAR'S site on Etsy. If you intend on wearing your bracelet (like I am today!), you'll need to give them your wrist measurement as they are all hand-made just for you! Kristen Stewarts Interview Magazine Cover made TIME’s Top 10 Magazine Covers of 2009

This is a hauntingly beautiful rendition of a visual pun — allusion meets illusion. The model for Interview's 40th anniversary issue is actress Kristen Stewart, who currently stars in the monster hit Twilight series. Using her as the model is a masterstroke of celebrity-cover timing, perfectly executed. The image is two photos — if you pull back, you can see her holding over her own face a same-scale, torn black-and-white photo of her, whose only color is in her blood-red lips. The ghoulish makeup is perfectly in keeping with current fashion photography, and it serves the dual purpose of enhancing the metaphor while making her look drop-dead beautiful. A final touch: the allusion gets heightened by more blood, this time on the fanglike letter I in the logo. That's why the lady is a vamp!

The scam targets people with special access to becoming an extra in the next film.

It started with a morning e-mail Becky Overall saw addressed to her 7-year-old granddaughter: "I noticed your portfolio online and have decided to contact you regarding positions now available as a movie extra for the new The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn movie in Portland."

The Twilight movie series has turned into a teen sensation, with plans for more movies to come.

The e-mail to the 7 year old had a link to this Web site: www.StarExtras.com. "The offer basically said 'If you go to my Web site, you can apply to be an extra on the new Twilight movie that's coming out," Overall said.

The site charges $39.99 per month to access its directory of casting calls throughout the country.

Overall became suspicious of the offer, and called the agent who handles her granddaughter's modeling offers. The agent then called Lana Veenker.

Veenker should know. She was one of the casting directors for the first Twilight movie. That movie is one in a series that has filmed in various spots throughout the Portland area including the Columbia Gorge and Washougal, Wash.

Now, Veenker is speaking out because she says some people are giving Web-site operators hundreds of dollars for "something a casting director will probably never see."

"I realized what an easy target these kids are because they're so enthusiastic about the movie," Veenker told KATU. "...To say that they're casting a specific project and that clicking here will shoot an email directly to the casting director [is] blatantly false."

The casting director for the films is warning teens to be wary of any Web-based claims of special access for casting of any sequels: "I just didn't want to see [this] happen - it makes me mad," Veenker said.

Meanwhile, it's making Overall that much more suspicious of other online offers.

"You never know who these people are that are out there," Overall said. "Our biggest concern has been how they contacted us, how they found us, because we didn't have our personal information out there."

The e-mails don't ask for money up front - and because of disclaimers on parts of the Web site the site may not technically be illegal. Still, Overall received another e-mail offer from the same people "following up" to help her granddaughter become an extra in the next Twilight movie.

KATU will keep you posted if free, legitimate casting calls for the movie occur in the Portland metropolitan area.

Fans banned from kissing Robert Pattinson cutout to avoid spread of Swine Flu

Twilight fans have reportedly been banned from kissing a cardboard cutout of Robert Pattinson for fear that they may spread swine flu.

An life-size image of Pattinson, who plays Edward Cullen in the saga, has been attracting lustful attention from film followers at the Reel cinema in Crewe.

The Sunday Telegraph reports that employees have now placed a notice on the cutout which reads: "Please help reduce the spread of germs by refraining from giving Edward, or any other character for that matter, a kiss or a hug."

Reel Cinemas managing director Kailash Suri said that New Moon was sold out for the first week, adding: "The girls were coming in and having their pictures taken. They were getting a bit carried away and in the nicest possible way we said, 'Don't kiss him'."

Lawsuit of Plagiarism on Stephenie Meyer Twilight Book Seies Dismissed!

Hachette Books, the parent company of Little Brown that publishes the Twilight Saga novels, released this statement:

“The Honorable Otis D. Wright II of the United States District Court has ruled in favor of Stephenie Meyer and Hachette Book Group and has dismissed with prejudice Jordan Scott’s claim of copyright infringement.

In his ruling, Judge Wright stated that the two works have little in common and that the “characters in the two works are vastly different.” The decision admonishes Scott for “the deceptive presentation of the alleged similarities” and notes that she “has twice manipulated aspects of the subject works in order to create the appearance of similarity.”

While an attempt to ride on someone else’s success may not be surprising, it is encouraging that the courts and the public are not so easily misled.

This judgment confirms what we have known all along – Breaking Dawn is a wholly original work by Stephenie Meyer and this was a frivolous lawsuit brought for the purposes of publicizing the plaintiff’s personal publishing aspirations. Hachette Book Group and Stephenie Meyer are pleased to be able to put this case behind us.”

Yes, Hollywood, women do go to movies

There's an old Hollywood tale, and it goes like this: Open a female-led movie around Valentine's Day. Watch women go in droves and drive up box office numbers.

Then let Hollywood executives call it a fluke, since everyone knows that women don't go to movies.

Over the past few weeks, that tale has been told with a twist.

Two female-led movies have earned astronomically high box office numbers -- like "third best opening weekend" high -- on fall weekends typically dominated by blockbuster movies aimed at men. "New Moon," the second film in the "Twilight" vampire series, has grossed more than $230 million since its opening, while "The Blind Side," about a white family that takes in a homeless African-American boy, is already past the $100 million mark.

For both "Blind Side" and "New Moon," women have made up more than half the audience. And by the time these films complete their runs, they could gross nearly $500 million each, said Gitesh Pandya, the editor of BoxOfficeGuru.com, because of a largely female audience packing theaters.

"There's no difference in movie-going by gender; women are just as likely to go to the movies as men," says Martha Lauzen, executive director of the Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film at San Diego State University.

If you give women movies reflecting their experience and interests, Lauzen says, they will go -- even on opening weekend. And yet the movie industry always seems surprised to find out that women go to the movies.

Just three years ago, "The Devil Wears Prada," starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, grossed $40 million at domestic box offices in the first five days of its opening. The total so surprised Fox's president of distribution that he remarked he "never thought it would be this big," since he'd never seen a "predominately female movie open quite that large."

Sarah Jessica Parker and her Manolo Blahniks grossed $57 million for "Sex and the City" during its opening weekend in 2008. The film made $152 million total at the box office. This was followed by the success of Streep's "Mamma Mia" and "Julie and Julia," and the Katherine Heigl-led romantic comedies like "27 Dresses" and "The Ugly Truth."

"Women are a dramatically underserved segment of the moviegoing population, and if the industry would produce films that are not, by the way, just about shoes and clothes, but really had multidimensional female characters doing interesting things, women will go to see these movies in droves," Lauzen says.

So, now that the truth is out, women in Hollywood are going to be very, very busy in the next few years right?

Not exactly.

"The performances of these films have been nothing short of extraordinary," Pandya said. "Having said that, studios are run by stubborn men, so it'll take more than this to make substantial changes."

Lauzen agreed, pointing out that Hollywood isn't the kind of town that embraces change readily.

In 2008, women comprised 9 percent of all directors, the same as in 1998, according to Lauzen's research. Moreover, according to Lauzen, in the early 2000s, females comprised 28 percent of all characters in Hollywood movies -- the same as in the 1970s.

"People need to understand the magnitude of this problem, and how entrenched it is," she said. "That's why I'm saying something substantial and sustained would have to happen to change this." She believes that, until more women are making movies, there won't be many female-centric movies to see.

But there is one woman in Hollywood who has hope: Women in Film's president and independent film producer Jane Fleming, who co-founded Shot in the Dark Entertainment.

"I think the last three years have been extraordinary," Fleming said. "A large slate of films have done really well, and it becomes less of an oddity and more of a norm," Fleming said. "Anytime something becomes less of a fluke, the more firepower people have to say, 'Hey, these 15 to 20 movies have all done well over the past three years,' and the case for the 'no' goes away."

Fleming is hopeful that the increase in diversity on screen will carry over behind the scenes, too.

"The trend is starting to change. We're seeing evidence that more than 13-35-year-old men go to movies," she said. "It bodes well as we go to have a diversity of voice in the films that are coming out, and hopefully that will translate to more women making them."

Taylor Lautner To star in Max Steel (Paramount's Next Big Action Star)

Paramount has confirmed to me exclusively that it's hired 8-pack-abs Taylor Lautner for the lead in Max Steel, instantly creating perhaps the next young big action star. (The Twilight Saga phenom is only 17 years old, and the Summit Entertainment folks predicted to me a year ago that he'd end up in demand for this kind of role after he bulked up for New Moon.)

This is the Joe Roth-produced project based on the hugely successful Mattel property that's an international bestseller. The movie will receive a major push planned as Mattel raises its stateside presence with the Paramount release. I'm told Max Steel will be a four-quadrant popcorn movie in the spirit of Iron Man about a 19-year-old extreme sports junkie recruited by a secret agency after an accident infects his body, leaving him with superhuman powers.

The screenwriters are also young, Chad Damiani & JP Lavin, who started getting attention around town with their action-comedy script Kamikaza Love as well as Sons Of The Hammer and Capeshooters. This is yet another big young action star for the studio under Paramount Film Group president Adam Goodman along with the recent announcement that Chris Pine is attached to the Jack Ryan franchise from Tom Clancy. Then there's Shia LeBoeuf, whom then DreamWorks exec Goodman put in Disturbia which he was overseeing, and Paramount cast in the Transformers franchise. Smart to start the youth movement (Sony Pics did that with Tobey Maguire and Spider-Man), not just because the young-uns can play the part for years, but even better they won't break a hip doing it.

George Clooney, Anna Kendrick Bask In Buzz At 'Up In The Air' Premiere

'I'm so proud of this film,' 'Twilight' star Kendrick says
Already early favorites to win the major trophies of this awards season, director Jason Reitman and stars George Clooney, Anna Kendrick and Vera Farmiga walked the red carpet of their star-studded premiere Monday night. And naturally, the evening's buzz had them floating "Up in the Air."

"I'm trying to look very poised and elegant," a dressed-to-the-nines Kendrick grinned. "I don't know if I'm succeeding."

The Red Carpet Lights 'Up In The Air' For Stars

"I'm nervous right now because I'm outside my premiere for my movie, and that's always an exciting moment," explained Reitman, whose first two films ("Thank You for Smoking" and "Juno") received awards-season recognition, starting a streak he'll likely keep alive. "Particularly at this theater, because we're at the Mann Village Theatre in Westwood; I've lined up on this street for movies since I was 10 years old."

A lot of people are already calling the film — which casts Clooney as a layoff expert attempting to reconnect with his human side — an instant classic. But according to the star, he won't be sure it's any good until ... 2019?

"[You know a film is a classic] right about 10 years after it comes out. It takes a while," Clooney said. "There are films that are very popular for a moment, and then they don't necessarily work 10 years later. Then there are films like — well, nobody went to see 'The Big Lebowski' when it first came out. It's interesting."

According to Kendrick, however, she knew on the set that "Up in the Air" was something special. "For me, the day we shot the scene with me, George and Vera was really special," she said. "I'd been working with George for, like, two and a half months, and I'd gotten used to [his celebrity]; you know, he was old news. And then we got Vera in there, and I was able to sit across from the two of them and watch them work after we'd done my side of it. That was a definite pinch-me moment, to be sitting across from such talented people."

"It takes me a couple years, with each of my films, to figure out what they are," Reitman laughed. "I think 'Thank You for Smoking' might be OK. 'Juno,' I don't know."

As someone who's been in a few stinkers, Clooney told us that he knows the difference. "You're thinking 'Batman & Robin,' is that what you're talking about? Are you trying to bring that one out?" the superstar laughed, invoking the name of his notorious turn as a superhero. "There was a lot of Oscar buzz around 'Batman & Robin.' There was a Best Cod Piece award. And then they took that out, and I had no shot."

There are lots of folks involved with "Up in the Air" who do have a shot this awards season, however, thanks to buzz that will only grow as the movie begins rolling out this weekend. "I'm so proud of this film," Kendrick said. "And now it's somebody else's job to worry about all the buzz and the box office."

But for the next few months, you can expect to see the possible Best Supporting Actress showing up to lots of red carpets dressed very differently from the tank-top-and-jeans ensemble she used to wear for interviews. Despite the extreme makeover, Anna promised us that she's keeping it real.

"I'm trying, man. You should see my apartment; it's still a nightmare," she shrugged. "It's such a painful irony to try and scrub up like this, to look very put-together and elegant."

Taylor Lautner And Taylor Swift 'Had To Make Out' In 'Valentine's Day'

'That's all I saw,' co-star Emma Roberts says of the pair's scenes in film.
These days, the eyes of Hollywood are upon the "New Moon" stars as they move out of their comfort zones and select non-"Saga" film projects. And few are more intriguing than Taylor Lautner's upcoming movie "Valentine's Day," which has the young heartthrob appearing opposite rumored girlfriend Taylor Swift in a subplot that revolves around them mostly, well, swapping spit.

"They just had to make out," grinned one of their co-stars, Emma Roberts, as she recently remembered a day watching the two young superstars filming the movie. "That's all I saw."

Hoping to be next year's "He's Just Not That Into You," the star-studded romantic flick features everyone from Anne Hathaway to Ashton Kutcher, Jennifer Garner to Jamie Foxx, Topher Grace to Julia Roberts to "The Hangover" star Bradley Cooper — heck, it even has both Jessicas, Biel and Alba. But while the February 12 film's recently released trailer displays all those actors — and even gives a line to Hector Elizondo — there's no mention of anyone named Taylor.

"I'm a big 'Twilight' fan; I read all the books in a matter of two weeks ... Bella and Jacob are my faves," insisted "Hotel for Dogs" star Roberts, who attended the "New Moon" premiere. "I am Team Jacob, solidly."

So, when the 18-year-old actress had the chance to film "Valentine's Day," she made sure she was on set when Lautner filmed his scenes, even though she wasn't needed. "We didn't have scenes together, but I met him on set," she recalled. "He's a really good guy.

"He has scenes with Taylor Swift," she said of Lautner's subplot, which fueled huge tabloid interest earlier this year alongside rumors that Taylor/Taylor were more than just an on-camera item.

"When you say it like that, come on!" Roberts laughed, insisting that there was more to their story line than simply making out. "Yeah, it was fun. They were both really cool. I hung out with them a little bit.

"Everyone in the world is in it," she said of the movie. "Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel ... it involves all these mini-relationships."

Taylor Lautner's Hosting 'SNL' Soon, So We've Come Up With A Few Perfect Sketch Ideas

New Moon star Taylor Lautner will host Saturday Night Live on December 12th and MTV’s Hollywood Crush has came up with ideas on What Should Taylor Do On SNL?

In case you were knee-deep in Stove Top stuffing and green bean casserole last week and missed the news, "New Moon" hottie Taylor Lautner will be hosting "Saturday Night Live" December 12 with musical guest Bon Jovi. Though we, along with many Twilighters, had been campaigning for Robert Pattinson to secure hosting duties, we couldn't be more excited for the 17-year-old to grace the Studio 8H stage. In fact, we've even dreamed up a few sketch ideas for the star. "SNL" scribes, we hope you're listening!

1. The inevitable "Twilight" parody

We know it's going to happen, the only question is how will it? Though several humorous scenarios ran through our minds (Taylor as vampire!), the one that tickled our funny bones the most was seeing Taylor cast as Bella Swan (just like his maybe girlfriend Taylor Swift was when she hosted!). I mean, come on, he already has the wig for it! With Andy Samberg as Edward Cullen, any moment from either the first or second film would be hilarious, but we're hoping for the Volterra scene from "New Moon." Taylor splashing through a fountain and running into the arms of Andy would be epic.

2. Cougar Den

There's no denying that Taylor drives those Twilight Moms crazy, so a "New Moon" edition of the "Cougar Den" sketch — the talk show hosted by horny 40-something women on the prowl for younger men — only seems fitting. Here's hoping Kristin Wiig has a pair of Taylor undies hiding in her bureau.

3. Taylor "Pantieless" Lautner

Speaking of Taylor panties, one of the funnier aspects of shapeshifting that "New Moon" the movie didn't touch on is that the shifter's clothes end up ripped to shreds after morphing, meaning when they take human form again they're very much au naturel. Well, what if in some bizarro world that were an everyday occurrence for Taylor? What if he spent an entire sketch "naked" behind a bush begging for clothes while passersby gave him dirty looks or asked for his autograph? Funny, right? Added bonus: It would get the hunk out of his shirt, which is always a good thing.

Summit Entertainment Ponders Twilight Finale: Breaking Dawn

The two-week $481 million worldwide gross of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” has put Summit Entertainment into the big leagues.

It has also created high class challenges for toppers Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger. As they come down from blockbuster euphoria, they are going to have to cut checks larger than most indie companies ever do if they move ahead with a plan to break Stephenie Meyer’s finale, “Breaking Dawn,” into two pictures.

Sources said Summit has so far only gone as far as setting scribe Melissa Rosenberg--who wrote the first three films--to finish the series, but Summit has to clear several hurdles before telling Rosenberg if she should write one scripts or two.

Among those hurdles is figuring out whether “New Moon” director Chris Weitz will respond favorably to overtures from the film company and the cast to return and shoot two more films, back to back.

Twilight_fleming_thesps Summit execs would not comment, but multiple sources said that the film company wants to go the two-film route, which means re-opening negotiations and getting approval from the author. It also means making new deals with a principal cast that is only locked up for four films. If “Breaking Dawn” becomes two pictures, all of the key cast members will get fat raises, and the three principals—Rob Pattinson, Kristin Stewart and Taylor Lautner—could land eight-figure paydays.

That is what happened the key cast members when Warner Bros. extended its blockbuster Harry Potter franchise by turning J.K. Rowling’s last book, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” into two films that will be released in November, 2010 and July, 2011.The global success of the franchise made the paydays worthwhile.

Summitlogo1 While the solution to most of Summit’s challenges will be determined by its willingness to cut large checks, the prospect of a Weitz return is more complicated.

After feeling violated by New Line’s decision to drastically alter his adaptation of “The Golden Compass,” Weitz said he felt redeemed and reinvigorated by the success of “New Moon.” Yet, just before the film’s release, Weitz was steadfast that he would next direct “The Gardener,” a comparatively tiny film scripted by Eric Eason, with Paul Witt and Christian McLaughlin producing. At the time, he said Summit was in discussions to fund that film.

Summit hasn’t closed a deal for “The Gardener,” probably because the film company wants Weitz to postpone it and work on “Breaking Dawn” instead. Could he possibly resist the chance to finish a global franchise he helped build, even though it will mean more time away from his family for a long shoot? That is the question he and his WME reps will weigh shortly. Though Summit hasn’t officially made Weitz an offer, sources said the job is his if he wants it. After bringing in “New Moon” at around $50 million and keeping the cast happy, he’s the logical choice.
