Film’s First Movie Trailer Receives 10.6 Million Online Views in its

First Week Through Launch Partners MySpace and MTV

The movie trailer for Summit Entertainment’s THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON received 10.6 million online views in its first week from the trailer’s domestic launch partners, MySpace and MTV. The trailer views on MySpace set a new record for the site with a total of 4.2 million online views within the first 24 hours and a total of 7.8 million within the first seven days. After being seen by 5.3 million viewers during its broadcast debut during the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, the trailer also received a total of 2.8 million online views on MTV.com within the first week.

The achievement is not only a record for MySpace, but also surpassed the views of the third and final trailer for the first film TWILIGHT, which received 3.2 million views in its first 48 hours online.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, and directed by Chris Weitz will be released November 20, 2009.

Twilight Author Stephenie Meyer Enters New Moon of Forbes 100 Most Powerful Celebrities List

The annual "most powerful" pages of Forbes magazine are usually reserved for actors and red carpet celebrities, corporate moguls and fashionistas. However, given the gargantuan success of The Twilight Saga and the movies Twilight and New Moon starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, this year Stephenie Meyer, the slightly reclusive author of the Twilight Saga, has been added to the Forbes list, with a ranking of #26 on the list of heavy influential real life Twilight hitters.

Making the Forbes list is no small feat for one of the most famous authors of the decade since the Meyer penned Twilight Saga, which includes Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, has quickly become one of the most successful and lucrative novel-turned-film franchises in recent years, extending into merchandise and clothing plus a variety of other profitable areas of the pop-culture landscape.

In November of 2008, the first Stephenie Meyer conceptualized film, Twilight, was released to a fan base that gives the Beatles of the 1960s a run for their money. Twilight, New Moon and The Twilight Saga literally give new meaning to the term “rabid” fans. Thanks to the overwhelming success of both Twilight novels for Twilight and New Moon, merchandise, and possibly even a space craft, Stephenie Meyer went from suburban mom to overnight celebrity to #26 on the Forbes Most Powerful Celebrities list. Through the one minute featurette, the filming of the scene wherein Jacob Black transforms himself into a wolf to protect Bella is exposed, showing both Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart on the Vancouver's set.

In addition to the set footage, this behind-the-scene video also includes interview with both of the stars. While Lautner gushes about what makes "New Moon" better than its predecessor, "Twilight", Stewart shares her praises for her 17-year-old co-star. She talks about Lautner's amazing transformation to get a hold of his part in the sequel.

"The Twilight Saga's New Moon" is a second novel adaptation of the Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series. Penned by "Twilight" screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, it has "The Golden Compass" helmer Chris Weitz serving behind the lens as its director. Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart are all reprising their roles with additional cast members that consist of Dakota Fanning and Michael Sheen among others.

Targeting a U.S. release on November 20, this vampire drama movie revolves around Bella Swan as she is left devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire lover Edward. Eclipse' Casting Is Reportedly Under Way For Three Characters

Notices for Seth and Leah Clearwater and vampire Riley have gone out for the third 'Twilight' movie.
While we only just debuted the first trailer for "New Moon," the second film in the "Twilight" franchise, it's never too early to turn our attention to the third adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's vampire books, "Eclipse." And turn our attention we must, because casting for the June 2010 movie is currently under way.

E! Online reports that a casting notice has gone out for at least three "Eclipse" characters: vampire Riley and two siblings in the Quileute tribe of werewolves, Seth and Leah Clearwater.

According to the casting notice, Riley "is a handsome, blond, clean-cut college boy who falls victim to [vampire] Victoria." The character is in his early to mid-20s and "plays an integral role in Victoria's attempt to murder Bella Swan."

For the Clearwater siblings, filmmakers are looking for Native American or First Nations (Canadian Indian) actors. Seth is said to idolize fellow werewolf Jacob Black and to be a "tall, gangly limbed boy with a huge, happy grin," the notice explained.

Leah is 19-years-old and the only female member of the wolf pack. "She is tall and slender with beautiful skin and short cropped black hair," the notice said. "She would be considered gorgeous if not for the perpetual scowl she carries due to a broken heart and her anger issues."

Stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are already set to reprise their roles in "Eclipse." Shooting on the film is slated to begin in August, with David Slade ("30 Days of Night") taking over directing duties from "New Moon" helmer Chris Weitz.

'Twilight': The wolf pack is cast

Summit Entertainment has revealed that five Native American/First Nation actors will join Taylor Lautner as members of the wolf pack in The Twilight Saga: New Moon. The announced actors are Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon, and Tyson Houseman. Werewolf characters, in particular Lautner's Jacob Black, will figure prominently in New Moon, due in theaters on Nov. 20.

Below, Kristen Stewart talks about her preparation for the cliff-diving scene in New Moon. Says she, she went to do a "head-scan" where she had to make a solid face and hold it in preparation for a computerized Bella to be made for the cliff-diving scene.

She gets to "almost jump" on her own, she says.

This is great news for us Twilight fans who wish to see scenes like Bella's cliff-dive presented perfectly to us. Chris Weitz, New Moon's director, has some experience with CGI in his work on The Golden Compass and others.
